Although some of these are very elegant they all lend a sense of casual without oversized arms and just by virture of what they are called - dayBED. I find them very inviting. I could easily put my feet up and relax on any one :)
I've been looking for a daybed or unique bench to put in the awkward space between my living room and dining room. It's wide open and we could really use some extra seating. I'm thinking of getting my hubby to build me one...
Your living room is looking seriously amazing! I love how it is all coming together. I love a Barcelona style daybed ( I know you do too), but Im loving the upholstered one, too. Have you seen many on CL? Nancy Powellbrowerhome.com
I really like this idea a lot. I find myself staring at my living room trying to figure out where I could put one. I really like the clean line tufted ones.
I'm loving 1 and 4. And yes, a daybed would look amazing in your lm. I've got al old cot sized bed in the basement I've always wanted to turn into one - but there is just the small problem of not enough room. Can't wait to see it in your space!
I like 4 and 5, especially if you're not putting it against a wall. This way, people can sit on it from either side and it will keep the space feeling open and airy! Tiffany tiffanyleighinteriordesign.blogspot.com
You should definitely get one--it will look great in your living room! No. 4 is my fav. It's so tailored with the piping, and the whole room is gorgeous and girly!
One of my favorite rooms from Domino has a daybed: http://pinterest.com/pin/155444624607937865/
I really wanted one for my living room, I saw a great one over at Crate and Barrel, however, I'm thinking space might be an issue. The spot in your family room would be perfect for one. Hey, I got my "I brake for Yard sales" copy already - can't wait to devour it!

I like the idea of one, but I'd get a daybed with a back. I find them to be incredibly uncomfortable for long term sitting if they're backless.

I love daybeds! If I had the room I would definitely get one. They are so beautiful!
