As much as I love the look of the AT playhouse, I'm not going to do anything major outside. I'll paint the door orange and maybe add some accessories like a mailbox and a door knocker.
I am going to use Tomato Red by Benjamin Moore...
(It is going to tie in with all the orange in my office. This is also the same paint I'm going to use for our front door)
For the inside, I am going to paint the wood white...
and cover the walls with this wallpaper...
(vintage black and white "retro" wallpaper I purchased from Ebay)
then I'm going to replace the carpet with the leftover vinyl flooring I used in the main floor bath...

As much as I want it to be a "playhouse", the space is just too small for the kitchen set...

and I'm going to replace the lighting with this lighting I won from Powell Brower...
or just put some pillows or a pouf and this sheepskin rug and call it a day.
What do you think?

I'm still undecided if I should put a small table and a chair...
What do you think?

That little door is adorable! Can't wait to see how if all comes together!
I think overall you've got a pretty great plan Charmaine! I think it will be a great reading nook for the girls( and even your little boy too)!
This is going to be sooo cute! I like the idea of a small table and chair, as well as a couple pillows and throws on the other end, but its hard to tell if there is room? If not, I saw pillows and poofs all the way!
look forward to seeing what you choose! either would be great. i love the vinyl flooring you used for your master bath. such a cool, economical solution!
This is going to be such a cute space! That wallpaper...love it. That desk is cute in there but I'd think of practicality. If your kids would use it, keep it, if not, just stick with the pillows. I can picture a chalkboard in there somewhere for them to doodle on:) Can't wait to see it!
Ahh the ideas are so cute:) Either way I don't think you can go wrong - table and chairs are perfect, but love the ideas of your kids being able to lay down in there and read on big pillows. BTW the light is amazing
i agree- no matter how you roll the dice it will be a beloved and used space! what kid doesn't love their own hideout?
The fluffy rug, some cozy floor pillows and a blanket sounds like the perfect place to read to me:)
Fun, fun, fun! Pillows, pouf and a cozy rug and you can call it a day! I'd hang out in there and read!
This is such a cute idea! I love the little door. Yels x

I love all of it, especially a door knocker and the mini sheepskin!!
I love where you are going with this! I say just pillows and sheepskin - more cozy for reading. You are a good mamma to paint in that little space. :)
i am thinking of doing that with ours for our grandson.... the door does not have a handle or jamb tho... it is one of those magnetic catch type.... was thinking of taking the door off and putting a curtain.... it opens into our living room tho so dont want it to look too funky
