RANDOM STUFF

Is it too early to decorate for Christmas?  Since we are not spending Thanksgiving at home, I think it should be fine.  Okay, maybe another week.
I started pinning some holiday inspirations though...

Source: bhg.com via My Best Friend Craig on Pinterest
(I have the wreath and the mirror, I'm definitely copying this)

I got an email from Kathy about my pinechoke lamp. She saw the exact same one from the June issue of House Beautiful...

The owner, Zim Loy, got it from an estate sale.  House Beautiful called it an artichoke lamp.
So, artichoke it is!
(see mine below)

Speaking of lighting,  I've been eyeing this vintage tole lily chandelier with opalin prisms for the foyer...

I've never seen anything like it.  What do you think?

And remember this table?

No, I didn't purchase it but someone else did.
Erin sent me this...

She didn't paint it like I envisioned  but it actually looks great as is, don't you think?

Yesterday, I went to a rummage/estate sale.
I died and went to chair heaven...

TEN. DOLLARS. EACH.
I must have really died because I didn't buy any!!!
I'm going to regret this big time.  I just don't have any room for more chairs.
I haven't even started with the Bergere chairs.  Sigh.

I still got my shopping fix though...

Do you see anything you like?  They are up for grabs.  Email me if you're interested.
I'm slowly collecting pieces that I love and will be selling them here or maybe Etsy.
Stay tuned!

I told you, totally random stuff! :)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Ha, so glad you included the artichoke lamp! And yes, chair heaven indeed. Can't believe you didn't grab at least one of them. Such self-control. I think you're doing the right thing by selling your finds because they are amazing!!

You need to start buying furniture too to revamp and sell on etsy....I can't believe those chairs were just 10 bucks! You could buy them, plus fabric 20 dollars and sell them for 200!!

OMG those chairs. And the price. OMG!!!!!! I need to find an estate sale to go to one day. How does one hear about such things? I would be interested in knowing how much you are selling those beautiful little bulls for!

Yay, you're starting to sell stuff! I know you'll be great at it...good luck! Love your artichoke lamp but not sure about that lily chandy...there's a lot going on there. But I'm sure you'd make it work somehow;)

If I do get to go to heaven...I hope all of those chairs are there! And....I used to have some of those brass pineapple urns...and probably gave them away 20 years ago! You just can't keep everything!

Hi Charmaine -

Long time lurker but first time commenter. I love checking your blog and I totally echo everyone else as I think you have mad skills in searching resale and craigslist. I was hoping to impose upon you to give some background info. on that rummage sale you went to . I recently renovated my 100+ colonial home in Chicago and I have purchased many many chairs to fit in my office and I think one of those would work in my pink office. Yup pink - all over. Any thoughts on the last chair (the pink one) on your first chair photo? Do you think its worth the hunt and search to see if they will still sell to me? If so, any ideas on how to locate?

I appreciate any help/background you can provide. Many thanks in advance and keep up the great ideas you got going on here.

Thanks!!
