ART AROUND THE HOUSE

Check out this great article about buying original art

Our art collection is on a shoestring budget...

{above and below photos are by up and coming Filipino artists}

{This is one exception.  It is one of my priced possessions.  It is by a National Filipino artist, Solomon Saprid, given to us by my parents}

{above and below photos are by local Milwaukee artists}

{This was an anniversary present from my husband.  It's a painting of our wedding church and is by a local New Jersey artist}

Do you collect art?

Have a great weekend!

Hi Charmaine! We love original art, and being a family of artists, we are sort of snobbish about reproductions! I wish I could afford to collect some big names, but Im happy with finding artists locally that I can afford. I love your collection. Have a great weekend!

Just starting, don't know much about whats valuable or not, I just started buying what I really like, I think that's a good start to collecting and choosing art don't you think?:-)

We're on the same thread. I just got a big painting at GW today and I bought it because I liked it and when I researched the artist it turns out he was a mid-century painter whose work is collectible. So cool!

Morgan, It's by a sculptor - Gary John Gresl and is part of the gestural series.
