I bought these Milo Baughman(?) style navy blue chrome chairs over the weekend with the intention of reselling them(more on this news later) but I am so in love with them I'm not sure if I'll be able to...

(in mint condition!)

I'm seriously considering making these chairs work in our dining room.

I went back to the thrift store where I got the black and gold deco lamp hoping that the matching shade was there.  It was!

Right beside the lamps section, I spotted this upholstered bench...

I couldn't resist.

I'm adding this to one of the many upholstery projects I have yet to do!

and this horse...

a vintage italian Bitossi horse!!

(Mine is not marked, like many of the vintage ones so I emailed a Bitossi collector and he confirmed that mine is a Bitossi!  Score!!)

For those of you who are not familiar with Bitossi, you might recognize their Rimini Blue line by Aldo Londi...

Also, I scored this adorable marble hedgehog pencil holder and acrylic bill holder from a local antique shop...

and this vintage elephant planter...

No offense to Craig but I think I'm loving Will and Vincent more! :)

OFFICE UPDATE

The office is coming together...

1.  I made a pelmet box out of the leftover blue velvet fabric I used for the lucite chairs(using pine board from home depot as the base).

2.  I purchased a persian rug on Ebay from this seller.

(Love!)

3.  I scored two great lamps over the weekend.

First is this pineapple lamp...

(I'm moving it to my side of the desk)

and second is this black and gold deco lamp...

4.  Since this room doesn't get a ton of natural light, I decided on a mirror top for the credenza...

5.  And I hung 3 Ekby shelves from Ikea for Mark's hats...

Now I just need to..

hang the lucite chandelier

repaint the desk

find a shade for the deco lamp

accesorize

What do you think so far?

Mark is pretty happy so I'm happy!

I HEART INSTAGRAM

I find myself stalking and posting on Instagram more and more.  It is very addictive!

Recently,  Emily Henderson hosted an instagram contest where you pick 3 furniture in your house that you would save in a fire.  She picked my teal chairs as one of her 20 furniture she would save (out of 550 entries!).   Yay! Thanks, Emily!  You made my day!

I don't know how she narrowed it down to 20 because there are a lot of ridiculously good entries!

I also met a new Instagam friend, Erin @egigliadesign.  I suggest you follow her because she finds the most amazing stuff...

RANDOM STUFF

If you follow me on Instagram (@mybestfriendcraig), you may have known that I finished painting the credenza for Mark's office.  I also finished reupolstering one of the two lucite and chrome chairs...

(I used navy velvet fabric I purchased from JoAnn's on clearance at $9/yard!)

I also went thrifting yesterday and literally gasped when I saw this...

a fiberglass spun bar stool.  I wished there were 2 but one for $15,  I can't complain.

This is going to the kitchen area in the basement.  I'm going to spray paint it white and have a cushion made maybe with hot pink linen with contrasting orange piping?

I also spotted some chairs that have good bones (but didn't get)...

love the wing detail on this one, $50

And a pair of this chair for $20 each.

Why am I so drawn to chairs?!!

I swear, it's going to be hard to choose a chair to bring to upholstery class(when I finally take one).

My sister sent me this link that I wanted to share because I think it's pretty cool..

It is made of aluminum and wood frame covered with elastic fabric printed with a texture of canvas and a drawing of a chair.  You lean it against the wall!
