I found the perfect credenza for Mark's office at my local ReStore...
($35! Can't beat that. It needs a top and a fresh coat of paint.)

My plan was to paint the credenza navy and replace the chippendale chairs with the orange chairs I got recently...
(and finally hang the lucite ribbon chandelier I got last year)
and tie it all up with a nice antique persian rug..
BUT apparently, blue + orange = NY METS. Mark was not so thrilled (big Yankee fan).
To his credit, he lets me decorate the rest of the house the way I want to so decorating his office (aka man cave) the way he wants to is really not a lot to ask.
Although I love the plan above, I'm the first to admit that it is a little too feminine for a man cave.
So, I'm back to my original plan of painting the credenza red. (Red=Rutgers and not Red Sox!)...

(I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the lounge chair and the bamboo chairs here)
(I'll probably end up reupholstering the pink chairs and moving the orange chairs to my office)
What do you think?
Huge yes for painting the Credenza red! its going to be a show stopper! :)
ReplyDeleteI have the same here....I can do wahtever I want in the house except the Library....that is my husband's domain only! Uggh!! I can't believe that credenza was 35!! and the chandy! so jelly :)
ReplyDeleteGreat find with the credenza. I wish I had as many amazing chairs to choose from as you! I like the orange chairs in there SO much, they feel more masculine than the lucites...but alas we can't have this sports team mix up. Once the lucites are reupholstered they will work great (but I will be sad to see the pink go!).
ReplyDeleteYour chair collection kills me! I had to do a lot of compromising with the dude in our office, so I hear ya!

Plans, plans...and more plans. You go, girl. I absolutely love your current office chairs! I too purchased one of those lucite chandeliers last summer and I plan to rewire it to hang in my foyer.
ReplyDeleteConspicuously Cassi
Love all your plans as usual. Youve got to give him one room :) that's the least we can do! Love the rug you had posted, but I understand totally. You'll find the perfect one, I know!
ReplyDeleteHave fun,and thank Mark for us for letting you be you all over the rest of the house!

Red will look amazing, and still look great with the rug. Maybe the pink chairs could become navy?
ReplyDeleteI know you will have that credenza looking all sexy when you finish with it. Keep the lounger in there...someone may need a siesta during the day.
ReplyDeleteWhat a steal! Love a good find. Can't wait to see it all come together.
ReplyDeleteAnd all of this dilemma is why I hate sports. I agree the bamboo chairs should not go in his office.
ReplyDeletethe finds you make and the way you put things together is amazing! donna
ReplyDeletelove it all. can you come over to my house and do it all up?

ReplyDeletetotally understand, red will still be a great color for the credenza. You can practice your re-upholstering skills on this one, can't wait to see the fabric you choose!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! It's all so good, can't wait to see how it's all pulled together...my hubby has the living "man" room, I can put pink and flowers anywhere I want except in there!
ReplyDeleteon the banks of the old Raritan...go Rutgers :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it will look pretty hot in red!
