FAMILY ROOM

You got a glimpsed of our family room before...

It looked like this when we bought the house...

We had the paneling painted white...

Spray painted and recovered the seat cushions of these thrift store bought chairs.  Since I have no sewing skills, I had the back cushions made by a nice lady I met through craigslist.

 I painted the bookshelves and mantle as well...

Coffee table, "dresser",

and this wing chair
are all from craigslist!

Finally...

the view from the kitchen.

I am still contemplating on painting the walls white(?) and staining the wood beams darker.  The brick fireplace I am okay with but sometimes I am tempted to paint it white too!  I want to know what you think. {Please take the poll in the upper right hand corner of this page, thanks!}

Have a great weekend!

  1. so cool Charmaine...looks very cozy...love all the little changes you've made. I vote for making the wood beams darker & the brick fireplace maybe a light gray?

  10. It IS the same fireplace! But at least yours goes all the way to the ceiling. Far superior.

    Doubtless it will be lovely once you are finished with it!
