WHAT I WANT TO BE WHEN I GROW UP

I've been wanting to take upholstery classes for the longest time(so I can rescue all the vintage chairs I find on CL and thrift shops)
My sister sent me this link from Houzz.
Spaces by Philadelphia Furniture And Accessories Wild Chairy

Andrea Mihalik's story is pretty inspiring. She started off with an upholstery book given to her by her husband for Christmas, signed up for classes after then interned for free for four months at BDDW.  She is now the owner of Wild Chairy, an upholstery shop in Philadelphia.

She creates one of kind pieces by combining fun fabrics and textiles with old word upholstery techniques and fine earth friendly materials...

Dreamy for sure. In this one thing, my husband and I agree. He has actually taken the classes and is now teaching me. Hard work but oh so worth it. We are working our way through some chairs now and I can appreciate now why re-upholstery is so expensive. With your great eye and talent for scouting insane deals, you be great doing something like this.

Do it! I know of her, she is famous for DIY'er upholsterer's. I took classes on and off for 5 years. I'm still not comfortable with huge pieces, but small ones are fun. You will want to own professional grade equipment. It makes all the difference.

Can I be your helper when I grow up too?! I would love to do this. I have tried my hand at several chairs but I am not stellar at it. These are gorgeous.
